Since I have been going through and re-organizing my photos for the new Silverlight layout, I decided that I want to do a better job at capturing things.

Here are a set of photos that I took when I bought my house in 2004. I immediately started renovations--tearing down to the studs and completely redoing almost the entire house. There were a number of issues with wiring and plumbing that made me glad that I made the decision before knowing all the issues.

Kitchen pics!

The kitchen – manufactured by Henrybuilt – turned out perfectly. There have already been few dinner parties to test it out. The craftsmanship behind the cabinets is amazing and is a work of art in itself. The media cabinet in the living room, made from bamboo, is also a Henrybuilt item. Check out their website www.henrybuilt.com for other furniture and kitchens!

More pictures of the Henrybuilt cabinets now that upper shelves are in.

See what the old kitchen looked like. This picture is facing where you see the windows on the left in the above photo. In the photo below, the wall to the left was removed, the ceiling vaulted, the window and door removed, the wall to the right (and bathroom) removed, and then some!

The kitchen is being installed!

Finally! The centerpiece of the house – the kitchen – is now being installed. The Henrybuilt cabinets are beautiful.

Living room pictures

Well, I finally have all of the drywall up and painted – white so far. There are still some touch ups to do, both holes and paint, but I am getting ready to put in the hardwood floors before the final touchups.

I just thought that I would post a picture of the cables ties in the living room that replace the previous collar ties. Got some cool lights up too!

Well, I have been working with an architect and it has worked out well. Emily has given me a number of good ideas and put the official plans together. I have also drawn up some schematics in a computer program since the scan is pretty bad.

I will be going to the building permit office tomorrow and then start to get things lined up, including the kitchen cabinets! Hopefully I can get this done by the end of September.

I bought a house!

Well I finally bought a house. It is down by the Lake Sammamish (not on the lake), a 5 minute walk from where I have my boat. This will be good for boat parties in the summer and in general it is a nice place to live.

I have some before pictures of the house

The reason why these are labeled "before" pictures is because I am going to do a significant remodel. Currently, there is a lot of wood on the walls and ceilings and I am going to drywall up instead and then put in hardwood floors. Also the kitchen is rather small, so I am going to open it up a little.

See the original floorplan. I didn't draw the garage in here.

See the possible floorplan and a second. I am leaning towards something like the first, but I don't have the kitchen layout or the master bath layout yet.
